Love it! Nowadays, idiots would say it’s a child abuse tee. Then it was rock ‘n roll. The most fortunate thing was me coming-of-age in the 90s. You inspired me to post a note with Alice in Chain’s anti-war ‘Rooster’, my face track. But https://youtu.be/zGQuYs53PN4 is more appropriate for morning.

Like many vets, I have been in a place of darkness, poverty, drug addiction, and homelessness. But now I have survived and recovered somehow because I have a strong will to live. The first time I actually listened to the lyrics of this song -- I must have been twelve or something -- I was shocked. I remember taking the cassette tape out to my backyard and grabbing a rock and poising it overhead to smash the tape (this was during the Just Say No to drugs campaign era). But then I thought to myself, "But I like the music too much." And so I put the rock down.

I'm convinced that that ridiculous moment was a pivotal moment in how my life would play out. Or I'd like to think it was...
